Yi Ting Paung graduates from Union College

Yi Ting Paung, of New Hyde Park, NY, graduated from Union College Sunday during the College's 223rd Commencement exercises.

Paung received a Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude, majoring in Chemistry and Visual Arts.

During the ceremony, speaker John Sexton, president emeritus of New York University, urged the class to build on their time as a family at Union to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.

"You leave here as communitarians, or what I call possibilitarians," he said. "Use Union as the North Star as you go through life, use the memories, use the lessons, use the network."
