Jaclyn Gehring participating in Union College's summer research program

2017 Jul 20

Jaclyn Gehring, of Wildwood, NJ, is one of 120 students working this summer in Union College's summer research program.

Gehring, a member of the Class of 2020, is working in the Physics and Astronomy department on a project titled "Solid-state diffusion in metals and sulfides: Applications to iron meteorites and the age of the solar system."

Union College students are working closely with 64 faculty stretched across 23 departments and programs. Most projects are funded through the undergraduate research program. The rest are supported by government or scientific society grants to faculty members, academic departments, and/or with foundation funding. The projects support Union's commitment to undergraduate research, one that rivals the experience found at larger universities.
